Bible Song Home Journal sample chapter

Take a look at a sample chapter from The Good News Home Journal. It is one of 60 Home Journal chapters available at this time with stories from the Old and New Testament. The four Home Journals currently available are The Books of Moses (Old Testament), Into the Promised Land (Old Testament), The Good News (New Testament), and Word Spreads (New Testament).

Each is a great tool to place in the hands of parents with comics by Rich Melheim to tell the story. There's also space to track daily Highs & Lows and Prayers.

Each chapter also includes FINKlink codes to go on-line and learn the scripture in song, study the artwork of He Qi, and play games.

The complete PowerPoint® presentation, The Good News: Look Toward the Heavens, includes visuals, animation, and music. Download this single compressed ZIP file containing the presentation and all related media files and see for yourself.

Bible Song Worship PowerPoint® presentation sample

This PowerPoint® presentation, The Good News: The Birth of Jesus, includes slides from the theme presentation to use during worship. Children and parents are invited to tell the scripture story learned in Sunday school to the congregation through the Readers' Theatre, cartoon story, and/or singing and signing the scripture for the day. There is space for you to insert your own art in slides with the verse. These slides are accompanied by the theme song with art being shown as the music plays.

Bible Song verse theme song samples

In order to help kids commit scripture to memory, each Bible Song theme centres on a Bible verse in song and sign language. The lyrics for these songs are verbatim from the NRSV. Here are a few clips from the Old and New Testament lessons of Bible song. (Full songs are included with the membership.)

Bible Song Readers' Theatre sample

Every lesson in Bible Song includes a dramatic comedy with accompanying cartoon slides in the PowerPoint® presentations as backdrops. They are first used in the theme presentation and can later be used again for children and parents to tell the story to the congregation during worship.

Bible Song Theme Comic Handout sample

Enjoy each Bible story with comics by Rich Melheim. The Handout also includes a "Name That Verse" game show where children and parents are invited to guess Old or New Testament and the correct book, chapter, and verse for the lessons. Like all electronic files on the CD-ROM, they are reproducible.

Bible Song Lead Sheet sample

There is recorded music in both vocal and instrumental versions on a music CD and embedded in the PowerPoint® presentations. But if you have musicians who can do it live, each lesson includes lead sheets and full piano scores for the theme songs.

Here's a sample of Christy Smith introducing "Emmanuel" (by Jon Anderson and Angie Witmer) in both a tutorial and song demonstration version using American Sign Language (ASL).We are planning to release 30 songs using Auslan in January 2010. The most powerful tool you have for memorization is muscle memory. Get moving and singing with these tools to help children and parents memorize scripture and make it stick!
